Shenanigans...

Once again it has been awhile since I have updated this bad boy. Life has been kind of insane lately here's the run down:

  • had to switch sections (school)
  • glum news (family)
  • group fell apart (school)
  • not sure where work is going
  • Fred (my kitten) is being a terror
  • etc. etc. etc. etc.
The list goes on but honestly it's too late for me to remember exactly what's going on in my own life. Sad I know right?

Right now I'm doing a survey for school and you all should fill it out (it only takes 6 minutes)!!! Here's the link:

http://algonquincollege.fluidsurveys.com/surveys/+AUWbNHfGnH7RXWhcZVnnqKrd2d/breakfast-eating-habits/

If you don't do this survey I will be very disappointed in you. Tried the guilt trip... did it work? I'm not sure if I ever posted a picture of Fred on here yet... but here's another one since he's so freaking cute!

What an adorable little munchkin!!! Too bad he's getting a lot bigger than that (updated pictures to come). Also got a fish tank (aquarium) the other day. No fish yet we're working on just making sure the tank is perfect first THEN going to add fish. It's also good empty right now so that Fred can get used to it being around. Earlier tonight he was sitting on the floor meowing at it and making really weird noises (weird cat). I know this will be one of my shorter blog submits BUT it's late and I'm tired. Scratch that I'm exhausted!!! Time for sleepy planet for me.

Oh and that survey... could you please fill it out? If you fill it out I will be your bestest friend forever!!!

It's been awhile (really)

Sorry it's been so long since I've written anything! This summer has been a crazy one indeed. A list of everything that I have done this summer includes:
1) Taking an extra course this summer to lighten my course load in the Fall.
2) Moving while I was taking this extra course (will never do THAT again).
3) OCMC preparations such as research and what not.
4) Got a kitten... His name is Fred.
5) Taking driving school and have 2 in class days left.
6) Preparing to get back to school.

So as you can see it's been fairly busy. I didn't include anytime that I've dedicated to playing Pokemon... I know loser right here but that's okay because I LOVE POKEMON!

You bet I will take that dangerous animal Professor Oak!!! Charmander is my usual choice (just putting that out there).

I just had OCMC boot camp today and to say the least it was interesting. A bit longer than I would have liked BUT got a lot of information. I almost felt like my brain was going to explode. I'm just looking forward to finding out what topic I will be covering when we go to Toronto in November. We still need $4,000 in funding to get us all to Toronto (that's a lot of money for us broke students). If anyone is awesome and willing to donate a little cash (even if it's only a dollar) they can do it here:

http://www.algonquincollege.com/ocmc/donate.htm

We still have a long way to go to get to our goal and could use the support. I personally could use the support with the financial aspect. It causes a lot of stress as everyone obviously knows.

Moving on from that!

I've finally taken the plunge and started taking driving classes... woohoo!!! It's about time I would have to say! It seems pretty trivial and I know most of the things that they are teaching us but HEY! If it gives me a discount on insurance in the long run why not!

My brain is turning to mush from boot camp today so I'm leaving this as is for now. If anyone wants to know any other details leave a comment or contact me. You know the drill.

Crazy Busy!!!

The past week/2 weeks has been insanely busy for me!!! First off I had to finish packing to move and also pack to go camping/white water rafting. It was honestly one of the best times I've ever had and I plan to go back and learn how to Kayak! Here's a picture of me on the raft... see if you can spot me ;)

Our guide Shawn/Sean (however you spell it) was awesome! He was a lot of fun and a really nice guy. We ended up partying with all of the guides that evening at their bonfire. Oh, forgot to mention the rafting was at RiverRun Ottawa. All the guys are awesome and really great people with a love and passion for rafting/kayaking/the river in general.

I also had a midterm in my summer class that I'm taking FML! It was a lot harder than I expected it to be! Apparently not many people did very well but we shall see when I get the results on Monday!

Another crazy thing is still going on/happening soon. I get the keys to my apartment on Sunday at 2:00pm! Am I ever nervous to leave my parents house and live on my own BUT I'm excited all the same! My parents will be empty nesters which honestly makes me a little bit nervous for them. Then again they could stand each other before my brother and I were around so they should be able to do it again.

My pet peeve lately has been 2/2:

  • People that are overly loud on the bus and yell over each other louder, LOUder, and LOUDER. If you all took turns speaking you would not have to yell over each other.
  • When people read their slides during a presentation and you feel like a 4 year old being read a bedtime story. When they are then asked questions and have no idea what to respond with since they just copied and pasted to their slides without analyzing the information.
So this Sunday KEYS! We shall see how everything else ends up going! I will try to keep you guys posted but probably won't be writing again until things calm down a lot more. Wish me luck with moving and hopefully I don't lose anything... even though I think I already have lost a huge amount of things *sigh*.

See you all on the flip slide!

knows it's been forever!

Life has been crazy at the moment! Lots of different stuff happening i.e. busy at work, moving soon(ish), and taking a night course in school. It's not THAT much stuff but it's a lot for me to handle at the moment... since it is supposed to be summer and all. ANYWAYS... What else was been going on upstairs.

Saw the Avengers last week...

I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was very well done and had a lot of action and even some romance (and what not). Since I've been hearing about this movie since the first Iron Man came out I was expecting LEGENDARY!!! Well I thought it was good but doesn't really deserve the status of legendary. I loved all of the actors and the story line stayed fairly true to the comics but I just expected more. People have already called me crazy but it's okay.

Next on the list I saw The Raven the other night...

It was really well done! If you're familiar with any of Poe's work you might find it a little hard to follow at some points but they kept it overall pretty simple. It was gory, which was nice, and also has that mysterious edge. I didn't think it was going to end the way it did (before the park bench). Just saying I was a little surprised but most people should know about the park bench in Baltimore. Anyways I suggest people go out and see it if you like history based movies with gore.

The next movie I am SO looking forward to seeing is DARK SHADOWS!!!

Will try to keep this bad boy updated and will let all my readers know when I see this!

EXAM WEEK!

Exam week is killing me!!! I'm SO stressed out right now and I know a lot of other people are too. If some people aren't they've probably been in the position before.

So much has been going on lately I work a lot more now, go to school, am starting a spring class soon, and have somewhat of a social life as well as fundraising. I am so freaking tired it isn't even funny! Tomorrow night I plan to sleep ALL night. Sleeping in until 12pm the next day is ideal at this point.

ANYWAYS! I will leave a better post after this exam madness is over!

For everyone that is in exams good luck!

loving Biotherm!!!

I got some Biotherm samples the other day and finally gave them a go last night and they are AMAZING. I used the BioSource Cleansing Gel for combination skin (pictured below) to start off with.

It was really nice foamed up and made my face feel extremely smooth and soft. No over powering scents either, which normally makes my face a bit red/pink. I moved on to the toner that comes with this BioSource Hydrating Toning Lotion (pictured below).

If you currently aren't using a toner in your regiment I STRONGLY suggest it!!! It is incredible! Completely cleanses your pores and leaves a subtle fresh scent. When I was done with the toner I moved on to the AquaSource Nuit (pictured below). This is a very runny moisturizer and should only be worn in the evening. I thought it felt a bit strange to put on at first but after it absorbs into your skin it feels great! Takes about 10-20min to fully absorb. When I woke up in the morning my skin felt so soft like a baby's bottom! Was incredible I will be buying some for sure as soon as I'm done with my samples.

I decided to go out without any makeup today and wore just the AquaSource Deep Hydration Replenishing Cream for Dry Skin (pictured below). This one is far too thick for my skin type since I have combination skin. I would wear it again to bed but not during the day it felt a little bit heavy.

AND for all the gentlemen this product is my favorite from Biotherm it smells SO unbelievably good!!! Biotherm Homme Force.

Anyways I just needed to rave about these awesome products and let everyone know that they should purchase them they are really great. I'm planning on sticking with them until I can't anymore!! They have some other really awesome products too but I don't want to keep you here all day! Check out their website and take a look at stuff that they have. The Bay carries their products and you can pick them up there anytime they are open!

is so disappointed...

So today I found out that I was chosen to present my Marketing Plan that I have slaved over for the past four months to the ACTUAL business owners. I then found out I have my first shift in a new department exactly when I am supposed to present it... I hate life right now.

I don't even know what else to say... I'm so sad right now it's not even funny.

doesn't get the Hunger Games!

So... I watched the first episode of The Hunger Games and honestly... very boring. Didn't really like it all that much. Was like Twilight... I haven't read the books so I can't judge TOO much but after I read the books (if I can finish them) I will be more unbiased... I guess.

We'll see what happens after that... If my 'review' is still bad I will for sure be letting you guys know. My friend just showed me this video and it reminds both of us of The Hunger Games... idea sort of copied? Not exactly but same concept.

Yes I know! I know! I haven't made a video yet and I really need to. Life's been busy lately right now and will probably only get busier. Not probably... I lied. It will 110% for sure be getting busier but I do have Tuesday off so hopefully I will be able to get it done then! I should have the house to myself, which will be nice.

On another note I found something that is extremely interesting it's something new Nokia has patented. Here is the link:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinehoward/2012/03/21/nokias-buzzy-new-patent-a-tattoo-that-vibrates-when-your-phone-rings/

I'm not sure how I feel about this vibrating tattoo. I don't feel like I would go out of my way to get it but if it was offered when I went to get a tattoo I would probably say, "sure". At the same time it scares me for them to do something like that to me. Let's just say I am completely undecided when it comes to this matter. Would anyone go out of their way to get this? That's something I'm pretty curious about.

I also found something else that I thought was really interesting here's the link for that one:

You can purchase items from a music video! You see something you like on someone you like and buy it right away OR you can just see what the price is and designer. Very good idea and has a lot of potential in the future. If they could incorporate this with TVs it would be the ultimate advertising for whichever companies get first dibs on the airtime. Television is going to become even more about advertising and commercials (that's my prediction). I might be wrong though but I think shows are going to get even worse than what they already are. With a lot of amazing shows in their final seasons or already finished it will be interesting to see what else Fox can come up with.

Another thing that I saw this week that caught my attention big time was this:

Anchorman 2 has been confirmed! I really hope that they don't ruin the first one with this. I'm praying it will be just as amazing as the first. That beat piece of news is what I will leave you with.

Good Night World.

Wednesday, 4 April 2012

is SO photogenic!

I took this picture just for everyone that reads my blog.

Needed to let everyone know that I figured out how to get my video and audio in sync without using my iPad! WOOHOO!!! I'm pretty stoked! Video soon... promises! If not yah'll have full permission to throw snowballs at me next winter... maybe.

is pissed off at Michael Buble!

For those of you that don't know the 2012 Junos where in my hometown just yesterday. I had tickets to go because I thought Michael Buble would be there... turns out he wasn't! I'm so upset that he wasn't there since he is one of my favorite performers. Oh and for those of you that are not from Canada the Junos is like the Grammys but for Canadians only...? If that makes any sense... and if you don't know what the Grammys are PLEASE Google it! Back to my being pissed off at Michael Buble!

In my personal opinion he is one of the best Canadian artists and didn't even bother to go to the Junos! What is that all about!? Mr. Buble... you have disappointed me and I'm sure a few hundred other fans of yours. Will I continue to love your music and think that you are hilarious... yes. I feel kind like a parent that is disappointed in their child for not coming home for Christmas or some kind of a special event.

I understand that he's a really busy guy and happened to have a show the same evening... but I have yet to see him perform and a performance by him would be the highlight of my life by far! Well at least the highlight so far... You are the Sinatra of your generation Mr. Buble.

Another side note Mr.Buble congratulations on your award yesterday night! That is a huge accomplishment and it's sad that you couldn't be there in person to accept the award. Shatner and yourself would have put on one hell of a show that is for sure!

Credit to The Canadian Press

Enough about that! I feel better for venting about my disappointment... I'm sure I will get over it soon enough. In other thoughts you need to come back to Canada ASAP for another concert. I missed you the last time you were here since your tickets sold out almost right away (good for you since it's good for business). Good luck on everything in the future Mr. Buble but for now I need to get back to everyone that reads this blog.

....

I needed that vent sorry to anyone that isn't a fan of his or even know who he is. If you don't know who he is I suggest you check him out! He's amazing and so funny as well! He's a true Canadian man.

There's two new things I wanted to talk about. First The Hunger Games is out and I'm not really sure if I want to see it... what are peoples opinions about it? The second is I just saw the trailer below and I think this is going to be an AMAZING remake and am SO excited for it!

I think it looks like it's going to be really good! One movie I suggest everyone go see is 21 Jump Street! It was a great movie and Johnny Depp's cameo is the best cameo I have ever seen in a movie! The trailer for it is posted below.

I tried to make a video but my voice and camera don't want to match up and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I'm getting really frustrated with it and considering using my iPhone to make a video for you guys since it has been awhile since I said I would make a video. I still need help with topics... so let me know guys! I know people read this and come on... some topics! Something... anything.

Vlog later... hopefully ;-)

Is a minimum wage slave for life.

Every single time I go into a store people ask if I work there! I'm sorry but walking into a pet store wearing a full suit does not scream that I work there. Why in the hell would I wear a suit around animals that will just get dirty and require some heavy duty dry cleaning. Are you kidding me? I am convinced people are morons. Like the one time I was shopping for bedding and pillows and some guy decided to follow me around saying "excuse me miss! Excuse me!" until I finally said "what???" and he asked where some shit was and I said I don't work here leave me alone! Gah! And he proceeded to stand there like a dumbass waiting for a response and then proceeded to bitch about shitty customer service! Bah what a joke! Apparently no matter what I wear I look like a minimum wage slave. Gah!

is extremely angry now!

Basically my Law professor just accused me and my classmate of cheating. He said our contract was too well written and looked like it was photocopied from the place we did it on...

WTF!

Why would I ever even think of doing that!?!?! Honestly! For people that know me they know I would never do that and risk my academic integrity. Seriously... This day has not been going so well because of that. I had to convince him that it was not copied and that I had never even worked there! Seriously my college fails! GR! I also tried to make a video but apparently my voice and video don't work together. I have no idea why... but yea... Need to work on it or use my iPad.

Honestly though... who does that? GAH!

That's the professor that I posted the video about before being the boring Economics teacher except it's for Law. I would almost prefer him as an Economics professor rather than Law. This is by FAR the worst professor I have ever had though... Sad yes it is. My grade two teacher was better than this.

I'm really sorry but I needed to vent about that BIG time. On the plus side I have an OCMC meeting this evening and should find out more about it and exactly what I will need to do to succeed. Anyways... I just needed to get that off of my chest. I need to actually start paying attention to class now...

is excited beyond all belief!

I'm sorry it's been a few days since my last post but SO much has happened that I NEED to blog about!

Monday: I started to write my blog but ended up being a little bit busy with class and homework (all that good stuff). The greatest opportunity EVER has come my way! I am now a team member of OCMC! YAY ME! This is going to require a lot more work on my part but will be well worth it in the end.

Tuesday: Found an amazing looking Duplex online and contacted the gentleman to take a look at it. He responded really promptly... I have to say it's a nice pace and feels good to be kept informed.

Thursday: Went to look at the Duplex and completely loved it!! Going to see if getting accepted for the lease is an option.

Friday: GOT ACCEPTED FOR THE LEASE! BOOYAH! I am so excited!!! I have never been so happy in all of my life! EIP! Going to sign all of the paperwork tomorrow! Yes indeed! Our first apartment... this should be interesting but amazing nonetheless. So far this week has been one of the best weeks EVER! I know it's because my grandma is taking care of me from heaven. *cheesy I know but it's how I feel*

Plans for Saturday:

1. Sleep in like a baby!!!
2. Go sign the lease.
3. Work and find out about possible promotion...
4. Go home with the biggest smile I have ever had in my life!!!

As for everyone who actually reads this blog thank you for the support and actually somewhat caring. PROPS to the interwebs and everyone on it. Until we meet again (most likely Sunday).

P.S. I know... video... working on it ;)

Sunday, 18 March 2012

is moving soon

I am currently looking for a place to move to and damn... it is a lot of hard work just to find a half decent place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Something downtown would be nice but I don't know if that will happen since rent typically gets expensive. Needing to have underground parking doesn't really help much either... but it is what it is. If anyone knows of any good locations I would appreciate if you let me know... pretty please? I still haven't found something to use to edit videos either. It will happen though!

I find out about OCMC tomorrow!!! I am more excited and nervous than I can even explain. Ashley understands where I am coming from and when I find out I will most probably SCREAM. I hope it's not in class so that everyone's ears are saved from the screeches.

That picture seemed appropriate :) I will post asap as soon as I find out about OCMC. I just realized I haven't really explained this OCMC awesomeness to most people. OCMC stands for Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition here's a link in case you want to find out some more information about it:

Something else really funny is that I saw my Law prof. at the casino last night. Talk about hilarious! He basically is the exact same person as this guy:

I kind of pictured him as being a robot and the fact that he was out at around 2am... interesting. I'll harass him about it tomorrow in class when I see him. It should be fun and my class will get a kick out of it. As of right now I really need to sleep and make sure I am ready for school tomorrow :(

Friday, 16 March 2012

is really sorry!

I know I need to make a video soon and said I would I've just been so busy with school. I also need to download something to edit videos. I should have something on my iMac that I can use though... I just don't typically do 'work' on my iMac. If anyone has any recommendations that would be amazing just comment below!

Also about OCMC I find out on Monday and will obviously post something ASAP when I find out to let everyone know! Installment #3 already started and on the go! This one will be a lot easier than any other installment. I'm also moving out in 2.5 months, which I'm starting to get pretty nervous for. Calling around for availability is going to start in about 2 weeks... Yes, I'm nervous much. First time living without my parents should be really interesting. I'm excited for it but scared all at the same time. I'm sure many people can relate to what I will soon be going through. I have never even moved in my entire life so it will be interesting...

Also I work a lot this weekend so I'm not sure when the next update will be but their might be a possible promotion on the horizon. Wish me luck!

Wednesday, 14 March 2012

is installment #2 and soon #3

Yesterday I was stressed beyond all belief over my installment #2 that is due for my class tomorrow. I now no longer have to worry! It is finished, printed, and ready to be submitted to my professor. When I reviewed the material and looked at the printed copy I felt like this:

After 8 hours of a group meeting and editing finally... it is perfect!!! Well at least perfect to my standards my professor on the other hand will be something else (hopefully good). Tonight I will be able to sleep without having to think about segmentation and my target market. This weekend I will actually post something a little bit more interesting instead of just rambling about school.

Maybe I will make a video for next time... I think that would be a swell idea. What should the topic be though?

Tuesday, 13 March 2012

and school work is never ending....

I have been working on my installment #2 for my Marketing class and it is a lot of fun but long. It is also due soon, which I am for some reason not looking forward to. The life of a marketer is stressful... I better get used to it! It will be stressful but I will be extremely happy with the long term benefits.

Right now I just happen to feel like this:

When I start feeling like that it means it's time for bed no matter what. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel a lot more like this:

Monday, 12 March 2012

The smallest piece of me...

that happens to be on of the most important is this background. It looks almost exactly like the colour of my room in my parents house! That was my first REAL independent decision when I was younger. My mother was completely against it but I found a way to make her let me paint my room bright pink. I must have given her the 'puppy dog' eyes to get her to let me do it. After that one small choice my parents realized they had to let me grow up and make my own decisions.

The best days with my mom and brother.

Best of friends & dynamic duo.

Over the years they attempted to pressure me into making some decisions that were their idea but not what I wanted. I always forged my own path in life and never really listened to what anyone else had to say. I was a leader unlike every other person in my family and my group of friends.

Me at Disney World dancing in front of a huge group of people.

Me again in front of a large crowd before Beauty and The Beast at Disney World.

The next big decisions were to start horseback riding, playing soccer, and even football. My parents thought that these extra curricular activities might hinder my academics but I flourished at school receiving honours and the Queen Elizabeth Aiming for the Top Scholarship. This was completely unexpected and helped finance my first time at Algonquin College.

Riding my favourite horse Buddy!

My first year at Algonquin College all I wanted to do was become a teacher. I thought going to Algonquin College followed by Carleton University, which afterwards would have been followed by Ottawa University to become a teacher would be the cheapest route. My first year of college was in Early Childhood Education (ECE). I loved every moment of that program! The one and only thing that stopped me in my tracks after my first term was a little girl I met in my second term placement. I had to go back to school full-time and say goodbye to her, which was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I still miss her every day and can`t believe how much she has grown whenever I occasionally see her.

The next three pictures are of a card the kids made for me when I left.

I left after the first year and looked forward to how my Esthetics course. When I first heard of Esthetics I wasn't completely sure of what it was. I later found out a lot more of what it was about and succeeded in getting my diploma. Just to brag a little bit, I did take a small business course and got a B in small business practices. Before I finished school I had already started working at a spa but decided it really wasn't for me. I decided taking a year off from school would be best for me at the time. It was the right move for me at the time.

These are pictures that were part of my makeup artistry class.

After a year off I was extremely excited to get back to school with my new program choice, Business Marketing. During my first term I did pretty well and really enjoyed the time I spent in class. My GPA in first term Marketing was a 3.44. The breakdown for my grades in first term are:

Financial Information for Marketing A-
Business Computer Applications A-
Skills Transferable to Business B
Marketing 1 A-

Currently in Marketing 2 I am sitting at about a 81% and hope to finish this term around that grade if not higher. I will keep this blog up to date and that will be one of the things I'm sure I will write about. There are a lot more pieces in my life that will be falling into place shortly so stay posted.
